Perfect purple

I've been carrying this purple strip of Tunisian crochet around with me, it's quite a portable project. People like it but have been assuming it's a scarf; it's not, it's the second strip of my blanket and don't you think it looks much better being part of a blanket?

This looks lovely - I really like the bobbly bits... I really can't do it...it's paining me - should I get a different hook? mine's plastic and not so hooky - it was uber cheap - would a pricier one be better? I just keep making knots - and I don't understand which bit to hook onto to make the next row...:(

Dear Bast , I can't even successfully manage a chain. Does this bode well for the square? I looked up some video clips to try and help me and had to go and change the search from "how to crochet" to "how to make a slip knot" as I am so spatially unable. I think something has happened to block the signals from my brain to my hands...is this possible? Why can't I do it? WHY???????? xxx
